Capital City Janitorial, LLC was officially established on January 19, 2021, by Tracy J. VanAlstine, a seasoned professional with over three decades of experience in the janitorial services industry. Since its founding, CCJ has remained a proudly family-owned and operated business, rooted in strong values of integrity, hard work, and community commitment.
Capital City Janitorial, LLC (CCJ), based in Holt, Michigan, is a family-owned, blue-collar business proudly serving the Greater Lansing area. The company was founded in 2021 by Tracy VanAlstine, with the help of her nephew, Joshua Sowards, following decades of
hands-on experience in the janitorial industry. VanAlstine began her career in 1995 with a nighttime vacuuming job and steadily advanced through roles in office administration, ultimately earning a degree in Human Resource Management. After the passing of their longtime mentor and friend, Thomas Epinga of Boling Janitorial, Tracy and Josh were inspired to carry forward his legacy by launching a company of their own.
CCJ recently entered a new phase of growth with the return of VanAlstine’s son, Mike Creaser—a recently retired U.S. Army veteran and former Counterintelligence Special Agent—who now serves as Human Resource Manager. In a unique arrangement, Mike will be working remotely from Arizona until Summer 2026, at which time he will relocate his family back to Michigan. His leadership and military-honed HR expertise support the company’s mission to create career opportunities for workers and veterans alike.
